  1. Definition: Simile is when you compare two nouns (persons,
  2.  places or things) that are unlike, with "like" or "as."

 as in round the rugged rock the ragged rascal ran

A figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to 
something to which it is not literally applicable in order to 
suggest a resemblance, as in “A mighty fortress is our God.”
